It was revealed on Sunday by the officials that the cost of attending the Minnesota State Fair this summer will be higher than it was previously.
Over twenty million dollars’ worth of initiatives that are intended to improve the fairgrounds were approved by the board of directors of the Minnesota State Agricultural Society, which is the governing body of the state fair.
As a consequence of these enhancements, the price of entry tickets will see an increase of $2, and the cost of parking on-site will climb to $25.
Participants will, however, continue to have access to complimentary sponsored park-and-ride services as well as on-site bike parking during the duration of the fair.
Up to Sunday, January 26, 2024, tickets for the pre-fair discount will still be available for purchase at the price of $15. Following this day, the price of pre-fair discount tickets will have increased to $17, and they will continue to be priced at that level until August 20.
The regular admission fee at the gate during the fair will be twenty dollars for adults, eighteen dollars for seniors aged sixty-five and older, and ten dollars for children between the ages of five and twelve.
Those children who are younger than four years old will still be able to attend the fair without charge.
It has been over seventy-five years since the Lee and Rose Warner Coliseum has seen a significant upgrade, and the renovations that are scheduled to take place in 2025 involve an allocation of nearly fourteen million dollars for the initial phase of work on the structure.

Among the proposed enhancements are the replacement of the roof, which has been leaking, the modernization of the mechanical and electrical systems, the installation of new seats and railings, the expansion of bathrooms, the renovation of entryways, and the improvement of lighting, ventilation, and accessibility features.
Other essential improvements, such as the replacement and repair of walkways and street pavement, the enhancement of lighting across the fairgrounds, and the installation or upgrade of water bottle stations and drinking fountains, will receive an extra $6.2 million in funding.

As part of ongoing efforts to improve the experience that visitors have at the fair, these renovations are being carried out.
This year marks the second year in a row that the Minnesota State Fair has increased the prices of tickets and parking. The cost of entry went risen by one dollar in 2023, and parking fees went up by three dollars.
These price modifications are anticipated to assist in funding the major upgrades that are now being made at the fairgrounds, which are set to take place during the 2025 Minnesota State Fair, which is scheduled to run from August 21 to Labor Day.
