A delegation led by Anthony Nyon, Director of Climate Change and Green Growth, African Development Bank attends the 2023 World Circular Economy Forum (WCEF2023) in Helsinki, Finland.
WCEF2023 is the seventh annual forum co-organized by Nordic Innovation and Finnish Innovation Fund Sitra with international partners such as the African Development Bank. The forum brings together business leaders, policy makers and experts from around the world to present the best circular economy solutions. WCEF explores how society and business can seize new opportunities to accelerate the global transition to a circular economy in order to achieve the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. WCEF is the world’s best known neutral global circular economy event and platform for the global circular movement.
A strong involvement of the African Development Bank is planned for WCEF2023 to build on and build on last year’s WCEF results and demonstrate the circular economy ambitions in Africa. This included speaker roles at the plenary session and side events, as well as hosting an African delegation of six participants from ACEA member countries and African organizations. I will attend and speak at the event with the mission team.
Anthony Nyon, Director of Climate Change and Green Growth at the African Development Bank, at a conference titled “Unlocking Finance for a Circular and Regenerative Economy,” co-hosted by Circle Economy and the European Investment Bank (EIB). Participate in guided conversations during sessions. ACEA, which has its secretariat at the African Development Bank Headquarters in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, will participate in a session titled “Circular Strategy and Roadmap” hosted by the Global Alliance on Circular Economy and Resource Efficiency.
The African Development Bank will host a booth in the WCEF exhibition area. This will give the African Circular Economy Facility (ACEF), ACEA and its partners the opportunity to showcase their solutions to a global audience and attract partners and financiers to scale up.
