WATERVILLE — Thomas College’s Harold Alfond Institute for Business Innovation will be offering a series of six free business startup workshops for individuals in Central Maine in March and April.
All workshops are held at Dirigo Labs at the Hathaway Creative Center at 10 Water St.
The Big Idea workshop will be held on Wednesdays, March 8th, 29th, and April 19th from 6:00pm to 7:15pm. Workshop instructors help these individuals refine their business ideas, validate markets, find customers, and develop business models.
Lean Launch Workshops are set for March 22nd, April 5th and 26th from 6:00-7:15pm and are open to anyone who already has a sophisticated business idea or who may have attended a Big Idea Workshop. It is held for individuals who are interested and want to learn how to start a business. Just 5 steps and you’re ready to go for under $500.
“There are many people who have great business ideas but are unable to take the next step,” said Michael Duguay, executive director of the institute, according to a university news release. “What we found was that all they needed was a little help at the beginning of the process of refining their ideas and finding the right business model.”
These two free workshops are intended to provide attendees with that assistance and guidance.
Duguay is a certified Entrepreneurship and Innovation Coach and instructor for the free workshops offered.
“My experience is that most potential entrepreneurs succeed with just a click or two. We just need ,” says Duguay.
