Markets plunged this week, triggered by the Fed Chairman’s hawkish comments. Jerome Powell, followed by the collapse of Silicon Valley Bank on Friday. The S&P 500 is down his 4.55%, the Nasdaq Composite is down his 4.71% and the Dow Jones Industrial Average is down his 4.44%.
on thursday SVB Financial Group (NASDAQ:SIVB) announced plans to raise $2 billion in capital to offset a $1.8 billion loss on bond sales, and its shares fell 60% on the day. SVB shares plunged again before prices stalled on Friday, with the company’s Silicon Valley Bank Closed by regulators.

Earlier in the week, Powell Congress said the latest set of U.S. economic data was “stronger than expected” and would likely force the Fed to raise interest rates “higher than previously expected.”
