A high-speed chase Monday afternoon arrested four children and recovered a stolen pickup truck and a stolen gun.
Flock’s camera spotted the stolen Ford F-150 shortly before 1 p.m., according to Ector County Sheriff Mike Griffiths, and officers tried to stop the truck, but the driver stopped the vehicle. and continued west on Highway 302 to FM 1936 at a speed of 160 mph. . The driver then headed east on Highway 302. Sheriffs said they saw an object thrown from a truck near Highway 302 and FM 1936, recovered it, and discovered it was a handgun.
Texas Department of Public Safety officers also joined the chase, and the chase ended at University Boulevard and Madera when the officers staged a PIT operation. The PIT maneuver caused the vehicle to turn sideways and the driver lost control and came to a stop.
Griffiths said the Ford F-150 and the gun were reported separately to the OPD as stolen.
He said four boys aged between 14 and 15 were detained.
