REXBURG — Local restaurant Crispy Cones is ready to take the dessert industry by storm with its unique interpretation of the ice cream cone.
Crispy corn is made from freshly baked dough baked rotisserie style and sprinkled with cinnamon and sugar. You can fill it with hazelnut chocolate, cookie butter, or gourmet soft serve ice cream. Rexburg owners Kaitlyn and Jeremy Carlson believe their crispy, crunchy corn (a local favourite) has what it takes to become the next big thing in the dessert industry.
This wave of goodness may reach a wider audience sooner than they thought. The Carlsons were recently given the opportunity to pitch their product on the famous TV show Shark Tank. They applied to appear on the show in January 2022, thinking it would be a fun opportunity.

“I never imagined it would happen,” Kaitlyn told EastIdahoNews.com. “I didn’t think we could do it.”
The main purpose of using Shark Tank was simple. In September 2022, we have an opportunity to do just that.
“It was surreal to be in front of someone famous,” recalls Caitlin.

Crispy Corn originally started as a food booth in 2018. It quickly became a local favorite and has grown steadily over the years. There are currently 11 Crispy Corns franchises across Arizona and Utah and two of his corporate headquarters, one in Rexburg and one in Logan, Utah.
The Carlson family loves being part of the Rexburg community. They even opened a new building in the Thornton area. This will serve as Rexburg’s new headquarters and warehouse.
“It’s been great to grow there and be able to offer jobs,” Kaitlyn said.
Carlson will be sharing his Shark Tank experience with the world this Friday at 7pm on ABC.
