As Playa Hotels & Resorts and Hyatt Hotels Corporation continue to expand in Mexico and the Caribbean, AGENTatHOME experienced two of their newest all-inclusive properties in the Cancun area. The adults-only Hyatt Zilara Riviera Maya, opening in December 2022, and the new all-ages Hyatt Ziva Riviera Cancun, opening in Fall 2021.
Hyatt Zilara Riviera Maya
This 291-suite resort is located in the former Secrets Capri on a beautiful white-sand beach in the Caribbean Sea, approximately 9 miles from Playa del Carmen and 47 miles from Cancun International Airport.
The property has 9 restaurants and lounges, including buffet and beach eateries. Other options include a sushi bar, teppanyaki, Mexican, Latin American and Italian cuisine.
Zilara Pool features wooden loungers with umbrellas around a zero-entry pool. There is also a swim-up bar and hot tub.
At approximately 14,000 square feet, the Zen Spa features 10 indoor treatment rooms, two indoor relaxation areas, a sauna and steam room, a master suite with hydrotherapy tub, group classes, a strength training area, and a cardio area. There is a fitness center equipped. area.
Prior to the property’s opening, the Hyatt/Playa renovation added 46 Swim-Up Junior Suites with private plunge pools and 6 Oceanfront Junior Suites. The Resort View Junior Suite Swim-up King Room measures 603 square feet and offers immediate access to the semi-private pool.
The Ocean Front Junior Suite King Room measures a generous 474 square feet. All suites at Playa Zilara Riviera Maya feature Wi-Fi, daily replenished minibar, flat-screen TV, makeup mirror, bathroom amenities, in-room safe, coffee maker, hair dryer, rainfall shower, bathrobes and slippers I’m here.

Hyatt Ziva Riviera Cancun
Unlike the adults-only Zilara, this property welcomes all ages. The 438-suite resort will open under its current brand in September 2021. The facility was formerly known as Secret Silversands. Located over the water between Cancun Hotel Zone and Playa del Carmen, approximately 30 minutes from Cancun International Airport. The resort offers water sports, yoga, aqua aerobics, a 3,800-square-foot fitness center, and a kids’ club with organized activities.
There is also a large water park with water slides and a children’s pool. However, adults who want to relax in peace can use the adult pool (or adult-only French His Bistro). The Hyatt Ziva Riviera Cancun has his nine pools on site.
The two-level, 16,000-square-foot Zen Spa features 13 indoor and 8 outdoor treatment rooms, as well as a hydrotherapy pool. Sunrise yoga, water aerobics and beach sports are also available.
The resort has 10 restaurants. Other than teppanyaki, reservations are not required in Miyako, and sushi, stir-fried dishes, curry, and ramen are also served. Other dining options include Habaneros for tacos and margaritas on the beach, Ki for modern Mexican cuisine, La Parrilla for al fresco dining, and Casa de Café, known for its coffee drinks and delicious homemade gelato. Food carts serve Mexican cuisine by the pool during the day. The hotel has seven indoor and outdoor bars.
The property has a number of suite categories, with the smallest measuring 668 square feet. Suites in this category make up the majority of accommodations here. All accommodations feature spa-like bathrooms, large HDTVs and a refreshment center with soft drinks and fine spirits. There is no resort fee at this resort and free Wi-Fi.
