AC Milan look poised to sign Arsenal youngster Fallerin Balogun in the summer transfer window, but big obstacles are expected to secure a deal.
The 21-year-old has been with the Gunners since 2008, spending 12 years in the youth team. The American-born star made his senior debut in October 2020 and has enjoyed 10 first-team tours with his team. Mikel Arteta decided to send him out on loan late last season.
And he enjoyed plenty of game time at Middlesbrough, making nine starts in his 18 championship appearances.
The England U-21 ace scored three goals for Borough and is out on loan again for 2022-23.
And it is his current temporary spell at Reims in Ligue 1 that has begun to attract his attention.
Balogun has scored in 15 appearances and has two assists in 25 appearances in the top league.
Lance wants to keep the starlet on board, but has no option to buy his loan deal.
But there could be a surge of activity surrounding the New York-born starlet next summer.
AC Milan’s front line is aging, Olivier Giroud and Zlatan Ibrahimovic are 77 years together.

Divock Origi is also in the books, but has yet to reach heights in Serie A. arsenal hotshot makes sense for Rossoneri.
Priced at around £20m If he continues to shine, that number is likely to rise, but it’s being debated.
but, Gazzetta Dello Sport reports that Milan find it difficult to keep Balogun away from the Emirates.

Arteta gives Balogun summer decision on Newcastle lap
Milan aren’t the only clubs associated with the prolific marksman.
Newcastle are now able to compete with most clubs in the transfer market and have even been mentioned in terms of forwards.
Eddie Howe is keen to sign a young player with many years of service to continue the club’s rapid progress.
But that may not all matter if the North Londoner chooses to keep him over the off-season.
Arteta is on the road to a comeback after a long absence of the Brazilian ace with Gabriel Jesus leading the line.
Gabriel Martinelli, Leandro Trossard and Eddie Nketiah are also on the list. And it’s questionable if Balogun will have a spot if all the players are in shape.
Premier League table toppers should consider whether it makes sense to acquire the youngster.
He is clearly a talented player and a future player who has proven himself in the French top flight.
It will be frustrating for Arsenal, who have spent so much time on the man who has scored seven goals for England’s Under-21s, to see him shine elsewhere.
Another loan move could be on the horizon, but Milan appear ready to test their special relationship with the Gunners.
